Overview
Ndesign is partnering with a globally recognized technology company to support the evolution of a large-scale web platform. We’re looking for a Senior Systems Designer (Web) to join a world-class team and help define, scale, and refine a robust design system used across high-traffic digital experiences.
This is a contract role based in London, with a remote option available. You’ll play a key role in creating and evolving a cohesive system of components and patterns, working closely with web developers and stakeholders to ensure consistency, usability, and scalability across the product ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Design Systems & Components
- Create, refine, and scale a system of reusable web components and design patterns
- Translate in-flight design work into a cohesive, maintainable design system
- Ensure consistency across layouts, typography, colour, spacing, and interaction patterns
UX & System Thinking
- Apply strong UX principles to system-level design decisions
- Define and document system direction, rules, and usage guidelines
- Balance flexibility with consistency to support multiple use cases
Collaboration & Delivery
- Work closely with web developers to ensure smooth handoff and implementation
- Partner with designers, engineers, and product stakeholders to align on system decisions
- Support adoption of the design system across teams and workflows
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Present design system concepts, rationale, and updates clearly to stakeholders
- Gather feedback and iterate based on product, technical, and business needs
Required Skills & Experience
- 5–7 years of professional design experience with a strong portfolio showcasing design systems and web-based work
- Advanced proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud
- Solid understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and accessibility
- Proven experience concepting, defining, and evolving design systems
- Comfortable collaborating closely with web development teams
- Strong communication and presentation skills
Desired / Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience working on large-scale or enterprise web platforms
- Familiarity with component-based frontend frameworks
- Experience contributing to or maintaining documentation for design systems
Contract Details
- Rate: Up to £600 per day
- Contract length: 3 months
- Location: London (remote option available)
